IdeaRoom Zapier Integration

Zapier is an online automation tool that facilitates integration between web applications without coding. A good example is using Zapier to send quotes to an unsupported CRM (e.g., Nutshell).

Clients can use Zapier to set up endpoints that can request and receive data from IdeaRoom configurators. Here’s how to set things up:

  1. You will need a Zapier account. Depending on the volume of quotes/saves the client receives, you may need to upgrade to a paid account.

  2. Log into Zapier, and click “Make a Zap”.

  3. Step one in Zapier is to set up a “Trigger”. A trigger is an event that starts your Zap. For IdeaRoom, you will need to click “Webhook”.

4. Set a “Trigger Event”. Select “Catch Hook”. Click continue.

5. This will create a Custom Webhook URL to send requests to. In general, they will look something like this: https://hooks.zapier.com/hooks/catch/1315881/jfiwa1/"

6. Copy this webhook URL and send it to your Account Representative.

7. We will need to test the trigger. This will send a request to the webhook URL, this will need to be coordinated with your IdeaRoom Account Representative.

8. This is what it will look like if a request is found. At this point, your Zap is set up to receive data from IdeaRoom.

9. The next step is to set up an Action. An action is an event a zap performs after it receives data via the webhook. This is where you choose the specific app to which you need to send data. This example will show Nutshell, a CRM system.

10. The next step is to choose an event, e.g., what do you want to do with IdeaRoom’s quote or save? In this instance, we will take a saved design and “Create a Lead”.

11. You will now be prompted to enter the account information for your system.
